        -News Release-

TRENTON, April 5, 2012 – Commissioner Harold J. Wirths of the Department of Labor and Workforce Development today joined Linda Kellner, Executive Director of the New Jersey Business Action Center, to discuss investment opportunities in the Garden State with officials from International Vitamin Corporation (IVC) of Freehold.

Chang Liang, chairman of Aland Nutraceutical Co., a sister company of IVC, traveled from China to meet with officials in Governor Chris Christie’s administration to explore investment prospects and the potential expansion opportunities for IVC.

IVC President and CEO Steven Dai and several other IVC officials joined the Trenton visit, which included a meeting at the LWD offices.

IVC is using a $73,600 Customized Training grant to upgrade the skills of its 366-member workforce, which has added ten employee since Commissioner Wirths issued the grant and visited IVC’s Monmouth County operations in October. The firm is matching the grant with $97,684 of its own money.

IVC employees are receiving training in team effectiveness, operations management, lean manufacturing, general finance and general business, and human resources management.

The Business Action Center, a division within the New Jersey Department of State, led by Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno, works to attract, retain and grow businesses in New Jersey.
