The Publications & Resource Directory provides data users with a brief description of the publications and data series available from the Office of Labor Planning and Analysis of the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development and the Center for Occupational Employment Information (COEI). This report contains only major data series. Publications and selected unpublished data series are available in electronic format via the internet at http://www.nj.gov/labor/lra. The Office of Labor Planning and Analysis hosts a World Wide Web site - (http://www.nj.gov/labor/lra). In addition to offering information about the Office of Labor Planning and Analysis, the site provides a wide variety of economic and demographic data on New Jersey and its labor areas and counties. The Labor Planning and Analysis web site provides links to related Internet sites worldwide. The Labor Planning and Analysis web sitemay also be accessed through the Workforce New Jersey Public Information Network (WNJPIN) home page (http:/www.wnjpin.net) by clicking on " Labor Market Information. Resource Staff
Data on specific counties or substate areas in New Jersey may be obtained from the Labor Market Information (LMI) center. Within the LMI center in Trenton are labor market field analysts assigned specific geographic areas of responsibility.
Additional information on other related items of data, methodology, data collection means, estimation procedures and the availability of historical, current and projected data series may be obtained by calling the appropriate statistical resource person. The list includes staff from the Office of Labor Planning and Analysis, the New Jersey State Data Center and the Center for Occupational Employment Information.
New Jersey State Data Center (NJSDC)
Housed within the Office of Labor Planning and Analysis is the New Jersey State Data Center (NJSDC). The NJSDC is a federal-state cooperative program between the U.S. Bureau of the Census and the State of New Jersey. The NJSDC's objectives are to increase access to, awareness of, use of and expertise in census data and related products.
Center for Occupational Employment Information (COEI)
Also housed within the Office of Labor Planning and Analysis is the Center for Occupational Employment Information (COEI). The COEI is an interagency consortium of the New Jersey Departments of Labor and Workforce Development, Education, Community Affairs, and Human Services, as well as the Commerce and Economic Growth Commission, Commission on Higher Education and the State Employment and Training Commission. COEI is mandated to provide accurate and timely occupational and career development information and to improve coordination, cooperation and communication between State agencies in the development of a comprehensive New Jersey Occupational Information System.
