Family Leave During Unemployment - Wage Requirements
• worked 20 calendar weeks in the base year, each being a week in which you had New Jersey earnings of $165 or more OR a week (up to 13 weeks) in which you were separated from employment due to a declared state of emergency during the base year (called "base weeks"); or
• earned $8,300 or more during the base year.
If you do not have 20 base weeks or total earnings of at least $8,300 during the regular base year period, you may still have a valid claim if you meet that criteria in one of the following:
- Alternate Base Period #1: The four most recently completed calendar quarters before the date of claim.
- Alternate Base Period #2: The three most recently completed calendar quarters prior to the date of the claim and the weeks in the filing quarter up to the date of claim.
