Family Leave During Unemployment - How Benefits Are Paid

If there is an existing Unemployment Insurance (UI) or Disability During Unemployment (DDU) claim, Family Leave During Unemployment claims that are received with complete information are determined within 7-10 days from the date of receipt in this office. When there is no existing UI or DDU claim, additional information must be gathered and it may take 3-4 weeks to issue a determination.

Payments are usually issued on a weekly basis. When updated information is required, a Claim for Continued Benefits will be mailed to you. Follow all instructions on the form and return it to our office as soon as possible.

Important:

A Notification of Information Change form will be mailed to you or can be downloaded from this website.  This form should be completed and returned to our office if you have a change of address, , your family leave ends, you report to the unemployment office as able and available for work, the care recipient recovers or you return to work.

Remember:  If you have received a debit card, you must also notify Bank of America of your new address.  The bank can be contacted through their website at www.bankofamerica.com/cashpay or by telephone toll free at 1-866-213-4074.
