As the economy continues to improve, employers in many industries continue to report that they have difficulty finding qualified workers with specific skills. The Opportunity4Jersey Training Grant program is designed to address these workforce and skills gaps, by funding training programs directly connected to the hiring needs of multiple employers. This program, which was piloted successfully in an NGO released in summer 2012, will increase employment opportunities for unemployed workers.
Eligible applicants: Post-secondary educational institutions and/or approved training providers working in conjunction with pre-identified New Jersey employers or consortia of employers from one of the New Jersey state’s targeted sectors
Funding source: WDP Individual Training Grants
Total funding: $4 million (individual grants will be limited to $300,000 per applicant)
