Request for Information on Newly Hired Worker - Form BPC-178

Search
Purpose
To notify the divisions of Unemployment and Disability about employees who are newly hired, rehired, or who return to work after a separation from employment. (See Form)

Use
We cross-match the information you provide with recipients of unemployment insurance and disability compensation, to identify claimants who fail to report earnings. We use the information to detect and help prevent benefit overpayments by cross-matching benefit payment records with new hire information.

Use by Employer
The law requires all employers to report basic information to ensure that employees are properly reporting earnings for periods for which they may be eligible for unemployment or disability benefits.
